Kevin Pearce Seriously Head Injured

Kevin Pearce was seriously injured this morning. The Olympic snowboard hopefull and Burton Global Team Rider hit his head on the wall of the halfpipe. He was unconscious.
Pearce was taken to the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City and, according to a New York Times report, underwent surgery to relieve fluid buildup in his brain. Pearce is coming off a concussion sustained earlier this month during a qualifying run at the Copper Mountain Grand Prix.
Pearce’s parents, Simon and Pia, are on their way to Salt Lake City from their home in Norwich, Vt. His agent Sue Izzo said further details are not being released.
