Ibogaine-chem

Ibogaine Treatment is believed cure drug addict. Is it really works? Let’s the time answer.

Ibogaine is an alkaloid found in the rootbark of the shrub Tabernanthe Iboga, which grows in the West Central African rain forest.

The mostly used form of ibogaine is Ibogaine Hydrochlorid (Ibo HCl). It`s the alkaloid ibogaine stabilized in the form of salt. It looks like white powder and is given in capsules. Some treatment providers use the so-called Total Extract of alkaloids (TA) contained in the rootbark of the shrub Tabernathe Iboga. The content of ibogaine in the TA is typically around 8-10% but it varies a lot from batch to batch. Definitely some of the other alkalods have similar properties like the ibogaine. The dosage is about three times the one used for the Ibo HCl. Totally unsuitable for treatment is the row Rootbark powder, especially in the treatment of opiate addiction. One would just get very stomach-sick and the withdrawals would remain. (withdrawals means in english abstinence syndrom)

IbogaineThe effects starts about 40-60 minutes after ingestion. The peak lasts 2 hours during which the person is mostly in a dream-like state but otherwise fully conscious of who he is , where he is, what is he doing and why. Ibogaine induces dizzines and bad movement coordination. In the first 8-10 hours one has to be helped to reach the toilette and back to the bed (in case of full dose). To get rid fully of this “hangover” takes about 40-48 hours. The whole experience is quite exhausting and not pleasant (with few exceptions which enjoyed it). Who has tried it understands why it cannot be addictive in any way. It`s hard work, not a recreational substance at all.

The legal status differs from country to country. To my knoledge is ibogaine scheluled as an illegal substance in USA,Sweden,Denmark,France,Belgium and Switzerland but it could be scheduled also in other countries.
IMPORTANT : Even in countries where the ibogaine is not illegal is not possible to have it administered by a physician or in general in a clinic or hospital for the simple reason that they can use only registered medications, which ibogaine is not. The ibogaine treatment provider puts himself at risk each treatment he does, as from a legal point of view he would be held responsible if anything would happen during the treatment -he administered the substance. No disclaimer can really protect him.
(Perhaps this is one of the reasons why there are so little ibogaine treatment providers all around the world.)
